We have a total of about 6 acres of strawberries for picking in 2008, including three NEW acres that were planted in 2007.  The strawberry season usually runs from mid-June to mid-July. We pick part of the patch each day starting at 6:30 a.m. Berries are available to pick every day. We use the first-come/first-served system. How long we pick into the day depends on that day’s picking conditions, weather, and the number of pickers that come out to pick.

Please call 715-421-2943 to check that day’s picking conditions if you are not able to arrive at our farm at 6:30 a.m.

Containers: Bring the waxed cardboard liner from last year and save. New liners are available at the checkout stand. No other containers are necessary. The liners fit into our carriers and provide for a uniform tare to make checking out easier and faster.

Pickers of all ages welcome: Well-behaved children are welcome to help their parents pick. We enjoy families visiting our farm for an enjoyable family experience. We ask all of our pickers, young and young at heart, to pick all of the good berries in their row. This reduces waste and makes the picking experience better for the next picker who will pick that row.

Organized picking: We offer tractor-driven rides to and from the strawberry patch. We have field staff to assign each picker to an aisle and to mark the aisle where the picker finishes. If you have any questions/needs, please call for a member of the field staff – they are there to help you and to keep the patch in order so everyone enjoys picking their own strawberries.

Weather: If weather conditions at 6:30 a.m. are adverse, we will go into “rain delay” and begin picking when the weather clears. If it begins to rain once picking has begun and there is no lightening, picking continues for those who don’t mind the shower. Please call (715-421-2943) or check the weather link on our home page.

Berry care and handling: Protect the berries from the sun and heat. Refrigerate berries (32-40 degrees). Don’t wash the berries until they are ready to be used. Hull the berries only after washing them. Enjoy strawberries all by themselves or in your favorite strawberry recipes.
